A Look at Popular Science Literature and Its Influence on Bulgarian Culture

In the next few pages this text aims to reflect on the state of the genre of popu- lar science literature in Bulgaria, how its being received and on what fields it focuses on. Through the lens of a few popular books, the text looks through the history of the field of this type of literature, its development and what qualities people aim to satisfy with it.

About to the author: Steven Genchev has graduated as a Bachelor in Philosophy in 2016 and is close to completing the Master’s program “Translator-Editor”. The author has penned mostly short stories, a few of which are published in the 2020 edition of “New Bulgarian Literature”. He is an author of essays on philosophical and theatrical subjects.
